Subscribe SubscribedBen Pierson has 30 years experience now with different backgrounds of different arts.
Ben started at the age of 5 training in his father’s garage with boxing skills in the family. He started Tae Kwon Do at 13 years old and earned his black belt by the time he was 18 in Tae Kwon Do/Hapkido.
He started a martial art journey by exploring many arts such as Capoeira, Dan Zan Ryu, Tai chi, and Aikido. He missed the training when he was younger with his dad and the training within his family as it was based more on realistic ideas and movements. Because of this type of training he felt the training in most of the schools he encountered was missing something and was based on theory without evidence of success.
HIs martial art pursuits changed when sparring with a 16 year old at a local MMA gym. It was at this moment that this 16 year old was perhaps the most challenging Ben had his whole life with sparring. The teens’ techniques were simple, very simple, and extremely effective. This is when Ben started his new MMA journey. It was based on many systems and experiments to see what works and what doesn’t. It wasn’t based on theory but rather reality and proven methods.
To this day Ben still works on and improves his system and still receives coaching and training. He is a certified MMA conditioning coach and has certification for Muay Thai fitness through the Nesta athletic organization.
