Good Day Nevada, the region’s newest five day-a-week morning TV show, is the flagship project for the NGBN Carson City TV Platform, which aims to produce quality, community-focused content to areas often overshadowed by larger markets. This is the case with nearby Reno; yet, many consider Carson City too small to stand on its own. But the producers of Good Day Nevada think differently.
“We have a story to tell; and that story is unique to this community,” says Ian Hill NGBN.TV Chief Community Builder. “Carson City was chosen for a reason-and what we are doing here will be the first of its kind in the country. We are so excited to be launching Carson and the Capital Region’s newest morning show.”
Since the goal of the show goes far beyond just reading the news, this won’t be a mirror of the typical news stations in Reno.
The content will be centered around the community, for the community, and by the community. That means there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved. While the cast of Good Day Carson will guide the start to your day, the community is essential to the success, and not just as viewers. The show includes a weekly guest host, featured businesses and nonprofits, as well as a weekly “Community Champion” selected by the viewers. Segments are also designed to be interactive, including social media polls and suggestions from the audience. Even if you think you know everything Carson City has to offer, the show aims to build connections and community.
Watch each weekday at 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the NGBN.TV ConnectedTV app, available on Amazon FireStick, Roku devices, Apple TV, and more, as well as on CarsonCityNV.tv and even Facebook.
BRIAN LUCAS, co-host of Good Day Nevada!
Co-host Brian Lucas brings his creativity and energy from his 20-plus years in Marketing and Design to Good Day Nevada! In addition to his co-hosting job, Brian also serves as co-lead pastor of Pax Christian Church in Gardnerville. Having grown up in South Lake Tahoe, Brian is an avid snowboarder and loves all things nature.
An aficionado of music, art, coffee, and conversation, his greatest loves are his wife Mandy of 15 years and their 10-year-old twin daughters, Callie and Bella.
“I’m excited to inspire and encourage people each morning to have a good day here in the beautiful state of Nevada,” Brian says.
KASSANDRA BUTTERFIELD, co-host of Good Day Nevada!
A former model, actor, and pageant queen, Kassandra Butterfield is both co-Host and Executive Producer of Good Day Nevada! and works tirelessly on additional shows she is developing here at NGBN TV. Originally from South Lake Tahoe, she’s a graduate of Bigfork High School in Montana, after which she went on to study Intercultural Studies at Biola University. She loves her dogs, Kashlee and Loki, and not least of all, our NGBN TV engineer, Nico Sarabia, to whom she is engaged to be married later this year.
Kassandra brings her big heart for advocacy to Good Day Nevada! “Nobody should be or remain voiceless,” she says. For years, she’s worked with the A21 and Xquisite campaigns to abolish Human Trafficking.
The oldest of six kids, Kassandra credits the ties that bind her loving family together for shaping the person she is today. She has a love for the community that only someone who has overcome monumental and all-too-common struggles can understand.
Besides getting away on adventures – whether a hike or finding a new coffee spot – what does she love most about Nevada? “The mountains and feeling free under that cotton candy sky!”
LORI LECLAIRE, TV Journalist on Good Day Nevada!
TV Journalist and News Anchor here at Good Day Nevada!, Lori LeClaire is excited to celebrate our smaller cities and rural communities by telling the untold stories and those that need re-telling. She grew up in Gardnerville, graduated from Douglas High School and the University of California, Irvine. She is married to her childhood sweetheart, Jerome, and they live in Carson City with their Irish Bulldog, Sophie.
“Having traveled to and lived all over the world,” Lori says, “the thing I appreciate most about the people of Nevada is that we ‘keep it real’. You won’t hear people in Nevada talking about ‘Keeping It Real’. We just do.”
